Pretty much what the title says. I wonder what would happen if they scored Splatoon's single-player mode with a full orchestra with a uniquely "Splatoon" sound. Now some might point to Splatoon 2's final boss music. Well, to me that's a good start, but I feel more could be done there. While there were some really cool harmonizations and stirring moments, I personally felt the mix wasn't the best and the orchestra wasn't used to full potential. Also, that's only two or three cues. I'm talking the entire hero campaign scored basically like a movie. What I'm thinking is a combination of Splatoon's "band" sound with the backing of a large symphony orchestra. Like, imagine if the orchestra was played like a band alongside Splatoon's synths, guitars and rhythm section. E. g. a muscular brass/double bass section would double the bass at climactic moments, or strings and woodwinds would play counterpoint melodies behind the guitars or something. For the most part, it'd accompany and enhance the band; it'd be a lot more subtle, adding hints of flavor here and there. For boss fights, atmospheric moments, intimate character building parts, and intense levels near the end, the orchestra would play a larger role. How about you? Do you think this sound would work with Splatoon? If so, how do you think it would/should sound. Bonus question for fellow music enthusiasts: which composer's sound or "voice" would work for the world of Splatoon? I personally put my chips on either Michael Giacchino (The Incredibles, John Carter, Rogue One, Jupiter Ascending) or John Powell (The How to Train Your Dragon and original Bourne trilogies. They both combine band and orchestra very well and create slick melodies with great, intelligent writing.

First up was The Rhythm Section "The Rhythm Section" comes across with such an immediacy to blast through its pulpy material to something primal, but there's nothing to be found. the movie tries with all the energy at its command to redeem an exhausted story with sheer technique, and later becomes limited by its structure and ideas. the limitation is that director Reed Morano works inside an action movie format that belongs to the studio-factory era, and the plot is held by that format. her previous films were full of exacerbated human emotions, bursts of rancor and shame, great quantities of disgust, and sometimes even greater quantities of affection. here, she accepts those conventions, but doesn't bring them new meaning. her extraordinary taste and craftsmanship come across as consciously elegiac and a shade dull. the film stars Blake Lively as Stephanie Patrick, a woman who seeks to uncover the truth behind a plane crash that killed her family three years earlier. falling into a downward spiral of prostitution, drugs and drinking, she is picked up by a journalist (Raza Jaffrey) who has discovered that the crash was not an accident. she embarks on a mission to track down those responsible, and travels far to meet the exiled MI6 agent Lain (Jude Law) who used to be the journalists informant. he takes her as a protege for training at his remote hideout at the edge of a Scottish loch. Lain is a harsh and uncompromising teacher, and Stephanie sheds blood during their unrelenting sessions. when shes recruited to a covert intelligence organization, Stephanie sees a means to an end. now, with nothing left to lose, Stephanie undergoes rigorous training to assume the identity of an assassin and become Petra, a mercenary terrorist based out of Germany, and Marina, an international businesswoman based in London. her immersion into the world of international espionage teaches Stephanie how to numb her feelings and act on instinct alone. she gets a kick out of violence, and is more alive than anybody else in the movie. Blake Lively plays her exuberantly, with power and slyness. when her bold, aggressive punks nature is restored, it seems not a joke on all of us but, rather, a victory in which we share, and it takes an exultant tone. she makes you root for her crookedness. Stephanie is under such vividly dire straits, it nearly overwhelms the espionage plot, which is where a lot of the problems lie. once her missions begin, the movie gets bogged down in the kind of muddled density that recalls the worst of Fleming and Le Carre. it feels rushed, as if Morano is cutting corners and taking the edge off of certain plot points. the film settles for approximations, and just throws effects at you, hoping that some of them will stick. if one thing can be said about the movie, it's got one of the most excruciating chase sequences i can remember. the key to the chase is that it occurs in an ordinary time and place. no rules are suspended; Stephanie's car is racing down streets where ordinary traffic and pedestrians can be found, and her desperation is such that we believe, at times, she is capable of running down bystanders. in a startling shot, the camera is placed in the passenger seat of the vehicle, and moves through two complete 360-degree revolutions. there's an alarming individuality to the scene; it features fast, hypnotic rhythms and graceful shifts of stationary compositions. the actors are mostly just bodies carrying pieces of plot around. they sound as if they were ordered to read their dialogue on the run - all except Jude Law, who has the luck to play a character torn in different directions. Lain manages to be ambiguous and a little laid back, until about the halfway mark, when his actions serve no function to the plot anymore and he doesn't show up for the remainder of the movie. theres nothing at stake in "The Rhythm Section. no narrative energy to keep it going, no revelation, and no surge of feeling at the end. it sets up an intriguing story, rides right over the dramatic possibilities, and chooses instead to distract us with the doldrums of punches and chases and plot explication. Blake Lively is a powerful actress, and she's playing against a talented cast, but the movie remains an actor's exercise: too much dialogue, too much time in the room, too much happening offstage, or in the past, or in memory, or in imagination. for most of the time we're waiting for the payoff, and when it comes, i'm afraid, it's not very satisfying. next up was Gretel & Hansel in the same month of sitting through recycled horror movies such as "The Grudge" and "The Turning. Gretel & Hansel" is a saving grace. rich with darkness and wonder, it's a fairy tale of such potency and astonishing beauty that it reconnects the adult imagination to the primal thrill and horror of the stories that held us spellbound as children. the movie is itself a narrative maze, flowing apart and back together again like a stream tumbling down a rocky hillside or, more aptly, blood spilling over a craggy boulder. director Osgood Perkins, uncompromising in style, plunges the audience into a dark, menacing, claustrophobic environment of decay, gloom and nausea with an almost unrelenting intensity. the story you either already know, or do not want to know. what's good is the cast members, who play their roles more or less as if they believed them. in this gothic retelling, Gretel (Sophia Lillis) is struggling with her position in the old world as a person who's only told she's good for subservient work. after she fails at acquiring a job, her stepmother accuses her of not paying her fair share and forces her and her brother Hansel (Sam Leakey) out. Gretel remains optimistic that she and her brother will find something and even manage to spend a night at a kind hunter's home. they wonder around the woods, becoming more hungry as time goes by. they eventually come across a home in the woods, that also has a lot of food on the table. they find an old woman who lives there, Holda (Alice Kringe) who offers food and shelter. they eat and gorge as Hansel is swayed by the promise that he'll be trained as a woodsmen. Gretel knows something is off with the place, but Holda also promises her to teach her ways of magic. Gretel also remembers about an old story her father told her about a young girl whose psychic abilities pushed her into the same woods. could this old woman have a connection with it? Gretel provides the films center of consciousness. we see everything that happens through her eyes, of course, and her persona projects a tremulous uncertainty, a wistfulness. Sophia Lillis is great in the role: dogged, determined, brave and demonstrative. as an actress, nothing she does seems merely for show, and in the face of this melodramatic material she deliberately plays down, lays low, gets on with business instead of trying to exploit the drama in meaningless acting flourishes. the movie has standards of an earlier, more classic time, when acting, character and dialogue were meant to stand on their own, and where characters continued to change and develop right up until the last frame. the underlying story penetrates straight to the deepest insecurities of childhood, stirs them and then reassures them. one of the treasures in the film is its location: a forbidding realm where nothing lives, thick with the blackened bones of dead trees, as if a forest fire had burned only the greenery. the movie has been shot with a lot of style, some of it self-conscious, but deliberately so. there's also pleasure in the low-angle and tilt shots that draw attention to themselves, that declare themselves as being part of the movie. it does something interesting with its timing, too. it begins to feel inexorable. an examination of how its people meet and deal with a woman so bad, cruel and unfeeling that there is simply no comprehending her. Holda is so evil, she is almost funny sometimes. the movie has so much aural-visual humor and poetry that its sustained despite the wobbly plot and the bland functional dialogue, such as the unnecessary narration by Gretel. some might say that Osgood Perkins was being too self-indulgent by making this sort of underground film. actually, he has proven that the vagaries and obscure connections of the shadowy subconscious mind can be accurately and even brilliantly transmuted into an artform to which anyone interested in dreams can relate. it must be that Perkins' use of irrational material works the way its supposed to: at some conscious level, we read his images. there is no psychology in the film. every act is inspired more or less directly by the act that went before, and the motive is always the same: self-preservation, based on guilt and paranoia. what makes "Gretel & Hansel" so powerful, i think, is that it brings together two kinds of material, obviously not compatible, and insists on playing true to both, right to the end. because there is no compromise, there is no escape route, and the dangers in each world are always present in the other. the movie is made hypnotic by the slightly disjunctive quality of Perkins' scenes. that, and the slow, assured sensuousness of his editing rhythms. its the fantasy thats organic, and theres no lost innocence, because the darkness was always there, lurking inside.

I have been in a cycle of perpetual self help/self destruction for 6 years and I cant get out Beginning from the beginning: I grew up in an a home with 2 loving parents, and an abusive older sister. She threw tantrums often, and I was her physical and emotional punching bag. My parents brushed these encounters off as sibling disputes, my sister would say that I was being a baby or dramatic when Id come to my mom crying after shed beat me. If I fought back my dad would hit me when he got home from work because men dont hit women. I learned to take a beating, and to suppress pain at a very early age, I also started lying to myself, that I was happy to just have a family. Oftentimes those lies would fall apart in my face, and Id have breakdowns, as young child packing my belongings and leaving the house in the middle of the night to go find a new life. I feel things very deeply, and always have. I often wonder how much my emotions have distorted my memory. In elementary school, I was bullied pretty relentlessly on the playground, I got targeted by a few of the bigger kids pretty regularly, theyd tease me, which escalated into physical bullying. My parents always told me to be the bigger person and turn the other cheek, so I did. I stopped fighting for myself, and gave into the reality that is my life, people walk all over me, and I should let them. It wasnt all terrible though, I made a best friend and we got really into Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. We would spend our time after school fighting with lightsabers, adventuring through the woods, watching movies, just hanging out and enjoying spending time with someone who wasnt out to hurt me. I hardly studied, and was very naturally smart, my teachers knew this and leg me slip through without doing a lot of homework. I was winning Geography Bees and in the accelerated learning program, so I dont think they saw a need to intervene. I moved after 5th grade, and stopped seeing this friend. It was a big loss, but with the move came a new attitude towards me from my family. Middle School: My Grandfather had just died, so my Grandmother would be moving in with my family. My father, a successful partner at a law firm at this point, bought a new house across town, much bigger, nicer school, higher income. My dad knew how unhappy I was with my life at this point, he lovingly spent many nights right after work listening to me cry and talk about how hard things were for me. How hated I felt, and how much I hated myself. My family all came together, for what felt like an intervention and was explaining to me how at this school I could be whoever I wanted to be. My older, cooler, cousin was an athletic, popular, and charming skateboarder and athlete. I modeled after him and got a skateboard, my dad got me all of the gear, a great board, skating shoes, a ramp, I could never get the board off the ground. He did this with every interest I ever showed, and it breaks my heart that none of that ever made me happy. The skaters at school were really cool actually, I wore my Etnies to school, and the small group of 3 approached me and asked if I skated. I enthusiastically replied yes, and we struck off a friendship that granted me a seat at lunch for the rest of middle school, Im so grateful to those guys, for giving me a home to come to. I became friends with everyone, knowing just how to respond to make them feel like I was one of them, even though I felt(and still feel) like I didnt belong. My dads advice was simple, smile at everyone you see. I did this, people praised my bright and bubbly personality. People gravitated towards me, others saw a light and sough to destroy it. I was overweight, and started gym class. One day in the locker room, another boy started poking at my stomach and calling me fatty, hed say things like nice tits, everyone would laugh. He constantly did this, and took the same route home as me, he was unrelenting. It was just like my sister, just like the bullies in elementary, nobody was defending me, people were laughing at me. I shut down, and stopped talking to people. I found an escape in band, I didnt have to talk, and felt like I wasnt seen in the masses. I didnt give a shit about it, I couldnt read music, I just watched what everyone else was doing and figured it out. I wanted to quit going into high school, so I could reinvent myself again, my parents told me I would have to stick with band, as I wasnt doing a sport. I told them I couldnt read music or really play my instrument, so they got me an instructor. He was constantly disappointed in my lack of ability, and motivation. My parents said I was wasting their money. I started practicing, and found a release in music, I started getting good. My band director noticed this, and started pouring in. I wasnt any happier, but music was an avenue to express the suffering that I knew. High School: My first introduction to high school was through summer Trombone sectionals. My section leader, a Junior at the time, took a liking to me. He was(and still is) and excellent trombonist, and he took me under his wing. I immediately had a friend group that saw me, recognized me, and accepted me where I was. I was never once bullied in band, or for being in band, it was the one safe space of my childhood, and I know a lot of other people feel that way. At band camp, I met a girl named Irene. She became my best friend, she was like an older sister to me, but so loving and caring. I truly loved her, even though I never told her. I suppose I was afraid it wouldnt be reciprocated and we couldnt be friends anymore. I didnt have a girlfriend all through high school, had a few awkward kisses, but I loved Irene. I was pretty happy. I never studied, I did my homework in the class the hour before it was due. I did extracurricular youth orchestras, summer music festivals, professional gigs, and started touring conservatories and top music schools. I continued to grow as a musician, and quickly the world recognized that this was my calling. The societal role people played was one of admiring me, my talent, and my musical gifts. Theyd say things like, you cant let that gift go to waste, or oh youre so talented where are you going to school, arent you glad youre not one of those dumb jocks. My parents shifted focus from my sister, towards further developing me into an Orchestral Trombonist. My mom took me all over the country to meet professors, and show off my talent. I really feel like I was racehorse being shown to potential buyers. I liked it though, the professors would compliment me, and it was pretty genuine. By 16 I was playing 3rd year Undergraduate Recital material, and getting top scores in the State for solo competitions. 17 onto intensive Orchestral Excerpt study with my mentor, a principal Trombonist in a major symphony orchestra. Id wake up at 6, do my daily warm ups, eat breakfast and head to school, where I had 2 hours of rehearsal, an hour to myself to practice, and 3 hours of regular classes. Id get home from school, smoke pot, hop on Halo 3, and practice between games until I had extracurricular rehearsals at night. I continued to thrive, and improve on the Trombone. When the end of my senior year came, it was decision time. My options were wide open, Juilliard, Curtis, Eastman, IU, UofM. All top programs with great faculty and great scholarship offers. My instructor recommended I skip getting a degree and practice for auditions immediately. I wanted to go to school and have the American Pie experience, drink with friends, lose virginity, go on crazy adventures. I chose the school that gave me a full ride, and walked my graduation. Everyone was so impressed that I was going to one of the best schools in the country, my parents said things like, “we always knew you were so talented”, their friends, “God has given you such a gift”, my friends, “Youre so lucky you can afford to go there”. Nobody was commenting on how much of the last 6 years of my life, I sacrificed. 4 hours, minimum, M-F. Every, single, day. That was me, I want people to recognize that, but I know I should just be grateful. Anyways, I said goodbye to my old life, started practicing even harder when I was out of classes, and amped up to be one if the best in college. College: I got to campus, and IMMEDIATELY found weed, psychedelics, alcohol. I partook, and felt like my consciousness was expanding. I felt so connected and bonded with those that I tripped and partied with. I quickly stopped going to classes, and would be sleeping in or on drugs somewhere that wasnt school. I quickly gained a reputation as unreliable, I adopted the fuck all the people that judge you mentality, and started disliking those in opposition to my brazen psychedelic revolution. I thought that me, tripping once a week wasnt a big deal. I found friends in my program that were accepting of my drug use, and to use drugs with. I found a new best friend, and we were practically inseparable. Ive never to this day, met someone who understood my pain as much as this friend did. I became very comfortable, and kept on practicing. In November, I was outside my dorm room smoking a cigarette wrapped in a blanket. Another student called the cops on me because she though I was homeless(wtf? on campus shes fucking dumb) anyways I was tripping and it freaked me out in that vulnerable state. I ended up being hospitalized, and in an attempt to save my reputation with my parents, I lied about it being a suicide attempt. I think that is the worst thing Ive ever done, and I dont know how Ill ever forgive myself. I was hospitalized, and put on so many medications I couldnt see straight. They discharged me and, on meds, I was so much worse. I felt like life was grey, like I was truly depressed, thats when my real suicidal urges began to manifest. I threw more drugs at the problem, and was doing painkillers and adderall by the end of December. Even though I was doing terribly as a student, my talent was undeniable, and despite failing nearly all of my classes my first semester, they gave me another chance. January came around, and still living in the lie of November, I had to play the role of depressed freshman fresh off a hospitalization and time off. Everyone was nice to me, snd really warm, it felt orchestrated and fame, almost like an email was sent to everyone but me(Ive had these Truman Show like suspicions most of my life. I chose to go back to the friends that were using, and I tried heroin for the first time. It helped me to escape from myself, and the piece of shit I was. I sold drugs, got an apartment, and told bigger and bigger lies. To myself, to my parents, to my friends, and to my professors and colleagues. It became a cycle of drinking 40s every night waiting for people to come buy weed, so I could then afford cocaine and heroin. Time disappeared, and I awoke to an breathing tube being pulled from my throat. I had overdosed, and was lucky to be alive. I had no regard for my safety, or the safety of others in this period of my life. I chose to get clean, and to leave my “friends” behind. My mom said something really cruel about my best friend at the time, “Hell be dead before you know it. ” I got a call in May, my best friend was dead from an overdose. I felt responsible, the police used my burner to find him, and he was dealing with charges for which I was gifted amnesty. I internalized the guilt for his death, and checked myself into rehab when I couldnt stop using to deal with that guilt. Rehab was hell. My parents had me do an outpatient, and it was 3 months long. I had to go 4 times a week, and talk about my stories on drugs, and part of me was really proud of all of the drugs Id done. My parents tried so hard to compartmentalize this whole thing as a mental health issue, and continuously sent me to psychiatrists, inpatient clinics, and would buy me books on the power of positive thinking/some bs like that. I knew this was because of my lies, and I was a deplorable junkie, but I just couldnt tell the truth and risk messing things up(getting kicked out/disowned) also similar pattern to Irene. We kept on trying new meds that made me worse, and I started forgetting about the lie I told. I was so good at acting depressed, I became depressed. I stopped playing Trombone entirely, I stayed in bed all day. Watching Netflix or playing Video Games. This bed ridden episode lasted for years. 3 suicide attempts and I have very little recollection of it. I know I was on xanax almost the whole time, presumably to keep me from suicidal tendencies. I had completely lost sight of the person I was and had been. I have no discipline, there was no passion, my eyes were dead, and I felt soulless. I was very truly lonely in this period in my life, and wanted so badly for someone to save me. I sent out a cry for help on Facebook, asking for anyone, a friend, enemy, or someone I dont know to talk to. Nobody responded. The next day my mom had just gotten back from the Pharmacy, and I was in a mood of faking like I was having a good day. I did this quite a lot, my mom poured a lot of energy into making me feel better, and I didnt want her to feel like I was a black hole, even though I am. She said that she thought I had been doing great, and I could monitor my sleeping pills now. As soon as her and my dad went out to dinner, I had a fifth of Beefeater in one hand, and a fifth of Jack in the other. I washed down the entire 3 month prescription, and had gotten most of the way through the liquor when I collapsed in the kitchen. My parents came home to me on the kitchen floor with an empty prescription and liquor spilled everywhere. My dad sped me to a hospital where I once again, cheated death. I was checked into an inpatient, and for the first time, opened up a little bit, and explained yo the group, that I simply couldnt take it anymore. I havent been able to specify what that it was until this very moment, but it is me. I truly found peace in the art activities they gave us, the meditations, the group circles, the ice cream. I had run out of medication options, so the only option they had at the time was shock therapy. With an underdeveloped brain they didnt want to give the treatment, so I was taken off medications and sent out into the world. I got out, and my friends from high school came over. They took me to church, and I met a girl I was interested in. I started feeling alive again. I became religious, believed in God, and became a youth pastor from that initial introduction, and life seemed to be really getting better. As long as my intentions were good, I was in the clear. My mom loved that I was religious and never pressured me to do anything, my dad was so exhausted from work and me that he was just happy to have less to worry about, and I was no longer alone trapped in my room. One day, a girl and her boyfriend came into my small group discussion. I had known the girl when I was in rehab, and she had grown into a beautiful young woman. She explained after the service that shed been tripping and had a lot of questions about God. I answered her questions, but she brought up some great points, and kept coming back. We ended up tripping together eventually, and my lies unfolded in front of me. I realized I had been feeding myself lies for so long I no longer realized reality, I shortly after quit my job, moved out of my parents house, and sought the truth through psychedelics. I worked in kitchens and delis, and spent my money of music festivals and hallucinogens. The friends I made didnt care about me, my safety, or my life. They wanted a good time, and I did too. We had great times together, but her boyfriend moved in with me, stopped paying rent, threw parties late getting me noise complaints, and was a generally horrid person to live with. When I kicked him out, the entire group of friends sent me messages, tearing into the most personal and sensitive moments of my life, the deep traumas and things I confided in them with. They said I was the common denominator, its all my fault, from the time I was a child. I felt so broken and lost and cried for a long time. I ended up moving back home with my parents. My Grandmother died, and they needed help with her things. She had lived a good, long life, and while we were mourning, we were glad for her to have taken the next step. I took the time to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. A day before the funeral, my mom asked me if I wanted to play the Trombone for it. I said no, she guilt tripped me into playing Nessun Dorma, from Puccinis Turandot, a piece that I had performed for my Grandma many times when she wanted to hear me play. It was one of my favorite songs to play her, and I couldnt refuse. I practiced for 30 minutes and went for a drive to meet the organist. I had worked with him in the past, and he was so genuinely happy to see me. We practiced and I started remembering how to play. The next day, I dedicated my performance as a one off, to her life and impact on me. I played beautifully, and the room was full of emotion. Afterwards, everyone was asking me what I was up to, where I was studying Trombone, etc. We had kept me and my life a lie, my mom fed me a script of lies to say, and I told the truth. People overwhelmed me with support, and I was mad. This wasnt for me, about me, and people were making it about me. Its for my Grandmother, not my ego. I put the horn back away, and set my sights on a career as a mechanic, Ive always loved cars. I was tired of failed career moves, friendships, lack of relationships, I had to change and was determined to, The foot in the door was community college, and I reenrolled and started taking classes. Upon hearing that its hard to get a job with a precious DUI, and having experienced this, I went to the HVAC program. I did okay in classes, the hardest thing for me was showing up. I didnt feel like I belonged in a classroom, like people couldnt relate to my life experience because theirs was so simple, how could anyone understand mine? I showed up to most of the classes, but didnt make any friends. I didnt go back for another semester, instead choosing to return to music school as a Jazz Trombonist. I put off applying until the last day, Im not sure why, this put my audition date past scholarship considerations, but I had to do something to get the ball moving. I didnt really practice until the week before the audition, I laid in a bed with sweat soaked depression sheets, and discarded food items littered everywhere. My dad gave me 40 the day before the audition, said, “Cut your hair, get a beard trim, you look like shit. ” I went and got my hair cut, and looked great honestly. I went in to audition, and they asked me what happened when I was a freshman, I answered honestly about my drug use and my mental health issues. I played for them, and they loved how I sounded. I was accepted the next week and would be starting school the next semester. I went to a jam session and saw old friends, now professional jazz musicians. I thought to myself, here they are, doing it, you can do this too! I was excited, I practiced, I got good again, I started seeing beyond my failures of the past. I tasted a bit of happiness. School starts, 1 hour commute one way for school. Im terrible at waking up, so my parents woke me up(rudely) every day. Id leave to go to school, get there, and sit in my car and watch youtube or sleep. My school has a pretty strict attendance policy so I failed some classes. That semester, I met a 19yo girl and we really hit it off. She was juggling a lot of classes, and part time jobs, and dealing with a boatload of childhood trauma. We really hit it off, and entered a relationship. I was 23 and this was my first real committed relationship. I didnt do any better the next semester, I moved closer to school, my girlfriend got me a kitten for Christmas, I was excelling as a musician developing a steady stream of gigs, but I couldnt muster up the courage to get out of bed in the morning and go do what NEEDED to be done(going to class. My girlfriend had been depressed the entire second semester, and I was trying really hard everyday to build up her courage and confidence in herself, while only faking mine, and something in me broke and her depressiveness made me depressed. I feel like such a piece of shit for saying that, and I truly may be incapable of loving others. I tried to stick through the relationship, but became growingly bored and annoyed of her saying the same things, complaining about things she could fix, and for just being herself. I feel like such a piece of shit for feeling this way, because so much of me loves who she is, but I know it will never work out. ANYWAYS, failed some classes again due to attendance, and was placed on Academic probation. If I didnt turn the ship around I would be asked to leave school, and would have to pay back my loans soon, derailing my dreams of becoming a Jazz Trombonist. Last years fall semester, I really stuck my head down and worked hard to be on top of things. I got all As in my classes, except for one where I still had attendance issues. Im off acad probation, but this semester I cant seem to find a rhythm. For my one big class this semester, Im afraid Ive already sank the ship. Ive missed almost all of the classes, snd have hardly talked to my professor. I cant play Trombone for a while because of a muscular injury, and I feel like Im self destructing again and I dont know how to stop it. How does one go about climbing over a quarter century of missteps, pain, and failures towards a future that might have a potential of happiness? Does someone like me even deserve that? What is wrong with me? Why do I feel this way? What should I do.
